Linda Debty

Linda Debty, 60, of Murphy, formerly of Hayesville, died Monday (Nov. 19, 2007) in a Murphy medical center. A native of Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Pearl Irene Grooms Martin. Linda was a homemaker and was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Eugene Debty.

Surviving are two daughters, Amy Thomas and husband, T.J. of Commerce, GA and Kathy Leitner and husband, Lewis of Murphy; two sons, Jamey Anderson of Hayesville and William Debty of Ohio; three sisters, Louise Gossett of Marietta, GA, Shirley Teems of Hayesville, and Norma Brown of Blairsville, GA; two brothers, Leon Martin of Hayesville and Lloyd Martin of Blairsville, GA; and seven grandchildren.

Memorial services at 2:00 PM Friday (Nov. 23) in the Faith Tabernacle Church with the Rev. Bill Dyer officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12-1:45 Friday afternoon at the Faith Tabernacle Church prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Linda Debty to the Broyhill Home for Children, 111 Sneed Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.

Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy in charge of all arrangements.
