The emphasis will be on understanding what diabetes is and how to do carbohydrate counting. Bring your logbooks, questions and meters with you. Family members are also welcome. Free WRAP classes Free weekly WRAP classes are being offered every Tuesday from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. in Clay County at the Hayesville office of Murphy Counseling (the old Smoky Mountain Center). Wellness Recovery Action Planning, i.e. WRAP, is a 10-week course that teaches you an approach for managing mental health and/or substance abuse symptoms that are interfering with your life. WRAP can provide you with HOPE that you can recover and reach for your goals! Certified facilitators are employees of Meridian Behavioral Health Services and have reached a place in their own recovery to offer hope, education and support to others. Topiary Classes The Garden Shoppe at 103 Main Street, Hayesville is offering free classes in creating a topiary - everything from turtles and frogs to squirrels and dogs. The organization ,which has been in existence for nearly a century has been a common bond for women of British heritage living in the USA. Members, joining together in fellowship, contribute significantly to the good of their local communities and support the four retirement homes for men and women established by the DBE. The DBE is a charitable,nonprofit, nonpolitical American organization and membership is extended to women of British or British Commonwealth birth or ancestry and to women married to men of British or British Commonwealth birth.
