McConnell Memorial Baptist Church

Special Needs Programs are at McConnell Memorial Baptist Church, Main Street Hiawassee, Ga. MMBC has added programs for children with special needs ages 4-10. Sunday School starts at 9 a.m. Children's church begins when the children exit the service to go to Children's Church. The AWANA program also offers a Special Needs Class. AWANA is on Sunday nights from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. AWANA takes place in the Family Life Center @ MMBC. Parents are asked to attend the first 10 minutes of Sunday School or AWANA with the teachers for the first two weeks. For additional information call Luann Robinson 706-897-2363.

Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church

Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church would like to invite everyone to our Christmas Program on Wednesday, December 19th at 6:30 p.m. Our Youth Group will be presenting "THe Sweetest Gift" following by a birthday party for Jesus. There will be food, games, crafts and other activities so come join the fun and learn the true meaning of Christmas. Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church is located on Old Highway 64 East.

All Saints Lutheran's Gift to the Community

The music department, of All Saints Lutheran Church will present their Christmas Cantata, O Holy Night of Miracles, on December 16 and 17.

Sunday, Dec. 16, the hand bell ringers will ring a selection of Christmas music and the voice choir will sing the cantata at the 10:30 a.m. worship service.

On Monday evening, Dec. 17, at 7:00 p.m. we will again present the hand bell music and the cantata as our gift to the community. After the concert everyone is invited to join us in the Fellowship Hall for a Dessert Reception.

The music department is under the direction of Carol Blackburn. All Saints Lutheran is located 4 ½ miles east of the Blairsville Post Office on Highway 515. For information please call the church office at 706 745-7777.

6th string recital

Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church in Young Harris, GA and Rev. Darris Baker will host the 6th string recital for the students of Dr. Vernal Richardson on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. The program will consist of solos and ensemble pieces. Students range in age from elementary to retired adults. Also joining Dr. Richardson's studio are members of a string class from The Learning Center in Murphy, NC. The community is invited to attend.

This program will also feature the local string ensemble "Ageless Strings" which rehearses at Young Harris College on Thursday evenings. Members of the ensemble are frequently invited to play at community events. Anyone interested in joining this ensemble should contact Dr. Richardson at 706-379-2711.

Clay United Methodist Men to meet

Clay United Methodist Men are having their monthly Program (Scouts) Breakfast, 8:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 15th at Hayesville Family Restaurant. For more details, call Wally Rood, 389-4476.
