Grant will Help Develop Entrepreneurial Support Network and Create Jobs

Raleigh - Clay County has been awarded a $250,000 Community Development Block Grant. The grant will be used by Clay County to develop and nurture an entrepreneurial support network throughout the county.

Clay County is one of three counties that will benefit from Community Development Block Grant funds. Community Development Block Grant is one of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development's longest running programs.

"This is good news for Clay County and the area around it," said Senator John Snow (D-Murphy). "This investment will add jobs and benefit the area. It is an important step in further developing the economy of this area."

The Grant will help Advanced Digital Cable expand its network. This expansion will create 10 new jobs for Clay County. Funds for the Program are distributed to the North Carolina Department of Commerce from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.
