Richard Nelson Huscusson

Richard Nelson Huscusson, 82, of Hayesville died Wednesday (Dec. 19, 2007) at his residence. A native of Clay County, he had lived in Gastonia for 25 years before moving back to Clay County in 1972. He was the son of the late Harley Samuel and Callie Louvonia Anderson Huscusson. He had worked in the textile mills for 25 years and later worked as a plumber's assistant for Bill Dailey. Richard was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting, raising a garden, and working on his "rollin rebel" truck.

He was preceded in death by six sisters, Bertha McClure, Annie Reynolds, Ruby Moss, Mary Lou Huscusson, Hattie Huscusson, and Kate Maney; and four brothers, Lester, Halen, Hoyt, and Robert Huscusson.

Surviving are a daughter, Rhonda Coleman and husband, Tim of Concord, NC; a sister, Willamae Dailey of Hayesville; and a grandson, Chris Huscusson of Hayesville.

Funeral services at 2:00 PM Saturday (Dec. 22) in the Mission

Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Danny Moss and Deron Shuler officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. Pallbearers: Coy, Jason, and Greg Ledford, Terry Dailey, Donald Davenport, and Mike Gribble.

The family will receive friends from

6-8 Friday evening

at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville where the body will be until placed in the church at the service hour.

The family requests memorials be made in memory of Richard Nelson Huscusson to the Mission Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 115 Mission Hill Road, Hayesville, NC 28904.
