NORTH CAROLINA DEMOCRATIC WOMEN North Carolina Democratic Women will meet Friday, January 18th at the Murphy House in Murphy to form one or more area Chapters for the counties of Cherokee, Clay and Graham. The lunch time meeting will be from Noon to 1:30 p.m. Reservations are nor required. The Murphy House is located north of downtown on Business Hwy 19 in the strip mall containing Ashley Furniture. Shirley Roberts, Director of the 11th District Democratic Women will travel from Mars Hill to be the speaker. Discussion will center around forming one Tri-County Chapter or individual county groups or combinations there of. Bylaws, dues structure and officers will be discussed and voted on by those in attendance. The purpose of the statewide organization is to support the principals of the Democratic Party and promote its growth, to encourage women seeking public office, to participate in Democratic Party activities. to work for the election if Democratic candidates and to assist Democratic Women's organizations on the County, District and State level. The 11th Congressional District is the largest in the state comprising 15 counties. All registered Democratic women are encouraged to attend.
