Critical shortage in blood for types O negative, A negative & B negative.

Chatuge Regional is sponsoring an American Red Cross blood drive on Wednesday, January 23 from 12:00 pm to 4:30 pm.

Young Harris College is sponsoring an american Red Cross blood drive on Wednesday, January 30 from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm. The blood drive will be held at Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church.

FLU

Clay Health director Janice Patterson says 850 doses of Flu vaccine available at Health Department. Shots given on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 8-5 (closed 12-1) cost $30. Medicare picks up coost for seniors. Patterson says that some Flu virus has been reported in the area, and she recommends Flu shots for children and adults with resporitory and chronic diseases.
