Odene Robinson
She was a native and lifetime resident of Clay County, NC and the daughter of the late William Harrison and Flora Bell Kitchens Ashe. Odene was a homemaker. She was a member of the Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church and member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Hobert Robinson. She is survived by one son Stanley Robinson and his wife Jane of Hayesville, NC; one daughter Kathy Ford and her husband Chester of Hayesville, NC; one brother William "Jack" Ashe of Hayesville, NC; two sisters Mattie Mosteller of Chatsworth, Georgia and Nettie Shuler of Salem, Oregon; four grandchildren, Chet Ford, Greta Crisp, Jason Robinson and Jennifer Williams; five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services were held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, January 13, 2008 at the Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church in Hayesville, NC. The Rev. Rondle Ford officiated. Burial will be in the Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wendall Anderson, Chet Ford, Jason Robinson, Darren Williams, Dwight Cassada and Gerald Morgan. The family received friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Saturday, January 12, 2008 at the Townson-Rose Frank Rose, Sr. Memorial Chapel in Hayesville, NC, where the body remained until placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service hour. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Odene Robinson to the Old Shooting Creek Cemetery Fund, 853 Hwy 175, Hayesville, NC 28904.
