Cooking with Barbara
Mystery Pecan Pie
By Barbara Walker-Huff

I Love a good mystery! Most of the books I read are Mysteries, especially those with a food title or the mystery solvers are cooks.

Most of the books also include recipes . The last one I read had a recipe for " Hot Brownies" where you use a Brownie mix and put 1 to 3 finely chopped jalenpo peppers in it. Pretty good but remove the seeds or it will be too hot, and make sure to wash your hands afterwards.

The following recipe is from the Food Network-

Mystery Pecan Pie

Ingredients Topping:
3 eggs
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup light or dark corn syrup
1 Tsp. Vanilla
Other ingredients:
18 ounce Cream Cheese
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 Tsp. salt
1 Tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 unbaked deep dish pie shell
1 1/4 cup pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Topping: Combine all ingredients, set aside.

In a medium bowl mix cream cheese, sugar, salt, vanilla and egg. Pour into pie shell, top with pecans. Pour topping over pecans.

Bake 45 minutes. serve warm or room temperature.
