Edith Long
Mrs. Long was a native of Clay County, NC and a daughter of the late Fred and Dora Kitchens Hogsed. She had lived in Kelso, Washington before returning to Clay County in 1992. She attended the Shooting Creek Church of God. Mrs. Long was a homemaker. Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her husband, RL Porter Long; a son, Tony Parker; a grandson, Daniel Long; five brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Long is survived by three sons, James "Tommy" Parker and Jimmy Parker both of Warne, NC, Danny Long of Newalla, Oklahoma; two daughters, Martha Parker Wilson of Kelso, Washington, June Long Holt of Andrews, NC; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family received friends at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2008 at the home of her granddaughter, Marsha Reece, 92 Collette Street, Andrews, NC, 28901.
