Hearth Cooking at the Historic Carrie Walker House
On Saturday, February 9th from 10:00am - 2:00pm another Hearth Cooking class will be offered at the Historic Carrie Walker home, c. 1880, in the Stecoah Community. The menu is farmhouse chicken with vegetables, collard greens, ember roasted squash, southern style cornbread and steamed pumpkin pudding.
This class focuses on a variety of Hearth Cooking techniques including Dutch oven baking, steaming, braising and ember roasting. Participants will have the opportunity to use the different types of pots and learn the various cooking methods at the Hearth.
