The Mountain community chorus will be holding auditions for new singers and reregistration for "old" singers on Mon., Feb. 11 at 6 p.m. At Young Harris College in the Clegg Rehearsal Hall. Those interested in joining a dedicated musical group to perform spring concerts in May should come Feb. 11 to add their names and voices to this outstanding chorus. Netwest Prose Workshop and Critique Session will meet at Tri-County Community College in Murphy, North Carolina, Thursday, February 14 at 7:00 P.M. For more information contact Richard Argo: 828-837-5500 MOAA February 2008 Luncheon Meeting Announcement The Blue Ridge Mountains Chapter of the MOAA will meet at 11:30 AM Monday Feb 18 in the Dining Hall of John C. Campbell Folk School, Brasstown. NC. Lunch will be served about 12 PM and is served family style. The menu will be the same daily menu the students are served. Our group will be in a separate room from the students. The Folk School History Center and Gift Shop will be open and are definitely worth a visit following the lunch for those desiring to shop or just admire the wonderful crafts made by local artisans. Reservations need to be made NLT than Thursday, Feb 14, as space is limited. Anyone making a reservation and not canceling prior to the 14th will be billed. Brown bagging is not permitted. The cost will be 11:00 per person and can be paid by cash, check, or credit card payable at the window as you leave the dining hall. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21. Two writers are featured each month. Richard Argo, fiction writer, from Murphy, NC and Peg Russell who will read poetry are featured this month. The community is invited to enjoy this free and interesting hour with our mountain writers. This program is sponsored by North Carolina Writers Network West and the Folk School. Coffee with the Poet Coffee with the Poets is hosted by Phillips and Lloyd Book Store in Hayesville, North Carolina Wednesday, February 27 at 10:30 A.M. Michelle Keller will be the featured poet. Tri-County Friends of NTRA 6th Annual Banquet and Auction will be held Saturday, March 29,, 2008, at 6:00 pm at the Mountain Vista Inn, 78 Terrace Avenue, Murphy. This exciting evening will include great food, special drawings for Firearms & Live auction items featuring limited edition NRA merchandise.
