Closing of a True Landmark brings Sadness to all

My name is Wesley Lance. I'm sure most of you know me or have seen my picture in Town & Country Pharmacy, the 8 x 10 of the little 3 year old boy crying. My father proudly displayed that picture for nearly 30 years.

This could be considered a tribute and a sad goodbye combines. First we want to thank each and every one of you for the years of dedicated patronage, and for all of the love and support you have showed to us. We truly love and appreciate all of you.

We also want to thank all our dedicated employees. I would like to mention a few such as Dorothy Lee, Genette Dye, Carolyn Guest, Geneva Crawford, Marie Hall and MaryAnn Smith. My family and I would like to thank you for all the years of hard work that kept the doors open.

There are also many special people, who in the last 10 months, have kept things going. Without David Byers & the pharmacy staff from Murphy

Medical Center, Connie MacCorkle, Julia Wheeler, Cleda Green, Erin Lemons, John Paul Garrison and Cindy Shook, the doors would have probably shut months ago.

I once thought my father just loved to work, maybe a workaholic, but when I came to know the same GOD he did, I realized it was his love for this community that inspired his hard work and dedication. He wanted to serve people in a way that would PLEASE GOD, and he did so very faithfully.

This is why it is so difficult to see these doors close. He loved all his valued customers very much, and my family and I will carry on that legacy forever. Clay County, we truly thank you for your years of dedicated patronage.

We are truly sorry to shut the doors of Town & Country Drug Center. I know that we will be missed and we want you all to know that we will miss you, too. God Bless you all.

With Love & Sadness, Wesley Lance and family Anita, Cindy, Josh, John Kenny & Peggy
