Gladys Ruth Young

Gladys Ruth Young, age 54, of Blue Spruce Lane Marble, NC died Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at the Murphy Medical Center.

She was a native of Cherokee County, NC. Gladys was a homemaker, loved to spend time with her family especially her grandchildren and enjoyed her flower garden. She attended the Hiawassee Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Anne Belle Henson Young; a daughter, Amanda Lemings; and infant sister, Julie Ann Young.

She is survived by two daughters, Christina Cody and her husband, Randy of Hayesville, NC., Felicia Griffin and fiance' Alex Freeman of Marble, NC; three brothers and their wives, James and Debbie Young of Andrews, NC, David and Mary Eleen Young of Marble, NC., Randall and Joyce Young of Murphy, NC.; a sister, Judy Young of Murphy, NC.; ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the Townson Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy, NC. Pastor Jim Beasley officiated. Interment was in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Peachtree, NC. Pallbearers were Dwayne Young, Christopher Hill, Charles Young, Ricky Conley, Eddie Conley and Church McTaggert. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Young and Scott Cody.

The family will received friends on Friday, February 15, 2008 at the Townson Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy, NC.
