Coffee with the Poets is hosted by Phillips and Lloyd Book Store in Hayesville, North Carolina Wednesday, February 27 at 10:30 A.M. Michelle Keller will be the featured poet.

HIWASSEE RIVER VALLEY KENNEL CLUB

Meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. the first Monday of each month at various locations. Our March 3rd meeting will be held at Brother's Restaurant on Hyw 64 in Murphy, NC. Diabetes Workshop:

On Wednesday March 5 there will be a gathering at the Moss Library in Hayesville for those affected by diabetes or in need of information. Whether newlydiagnosed or long-time diabetics, we are all curious about counting carbohydrates, food selection and preparation, exercise, our medications and possible complications.

Doctor Ellen Andrews is organizing this meeting, to be held between 4:30 and 6:00 PM. There will be instructional materials available, including brochures and magazines. Numerous resources are always available at the library as well.

Feel free to bring your log books, glucose meters, recipes and tips. We welcome your questions, stories, and suggestions about how to make life better for diabetics in our area. For information, call the library at 389-8401. Clay County Republican Party

Clay County Republican Party will hold it County Convention at the Hayesville Family Restaurant, on March 6th 2008 6 pm if you would like to eat 6:30 for the meeting.

The N.C.W.N. Netwest Poetry Critique

DAUGHTERS of the AMERICAN REVOLUTION MARCH MEETING

The March 2008 meeting of the DAR Chapter will be held at The Old Hiawassee Grille Fireside Room in Hiawassee, GA Saturday, March 8 at 10:15 AM. A member of the State DAR Speaker's Staff will feature a program on "Meadow Garden," a DAR memorial in Augusta, Georgia, to George Walton, who was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. March MOAA Meeting

The March meeting of the Blue Ridge Mountains Chapter of the Military Officers Association will be held on Monday, March 10, the second Monday instead of the usual third Monday. The meeting will be held at Crossroads Restaurant in Young Harris, GA at 11:30. The guest speaker this month will be Dr. Ellen Andrews. All Active Duty, National Guard, Reserve, Retired and Former Military and Public Health Service officers and warrant officers are invited to attend. Tri-County Friends of NTRA

Tri-County Friends of NTRA 6th Annual Banquet and Auction will be held Saturday, March 29,, 2008, at 6:00 pm at the Mountain Vista Inn, 78 Terrace Avenue, Murphy. This exciting evening will include great food, special drawings for Firearms & Live auction items featuring limited edition NRA merchandise.
