Sold-Out night at the Peacock Playhouse Last Saturday night at the Peacock Playhouse was a complete sell-out! In fact, there were people in the lobby who hadn't purchased tickets in advance; waiting and hoping there were some "no shows" so they could get a seat. What a night! The reason for the excitement was the performance of local groups Irons in the Fire (unplugged) and Gnarly Fingers. Both groups graciously and generously donated their time and musical talents and all proceeds from the show went to the Peacock Playhouse building maintenance fund. Irons in the Fire (unplugged) opened the show and got the crowd involved with original numbers ranging from the humorous "Bugs Bunny Stew" to the thought provoking, "Concrete and Greed". Irons even did a number that encouraged audience participation with kazoos. It was evident that at least one person in the crowd may have been "kazoo challenged" if you get the point. Gnarly Fingers took the stage after the intermission and performed their own style of original music plus some familiar songs that ran from a duet by Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard, "Poncho and Lefty" to Pure Prairie League's, "Amy."
Hats off and a most heartfelt thank-you to "Irons in the Fire" (unplugged) and Gnarly Fingers for providing such a fine night of music and to all of those who came to hear the music and support the Peacock Playhouse.
