Book Fair Scheduled for March 20th and 21st

CALENDAR Murphy Medical Center is hosting a Book Fair on Thursday and Friday, March 20th and 21st in the large conference room at the hospital. The book fair features quality books and unique gifts provided by the Books Are Fun organization, a Reader's Digest Company, at wonderful savings. Every book fair is different, but each event provides a wide variety of books, note cards and stationery items, children's activity items, music CDs and much more. The cookbook and children's book sections are especially superb. Cash, Credit Cards, Checks (even post-dated) are accepted.Proceeds benefit the Murphy Medical Center Charity Fund to support various community charitable causes. March Dance schedule at Hayesville Senior Center:

Hooray Hooray, Winter is on the downside and it's not so cold to adventure out this Friday and/or hopefully Friday March 21st for this Month's dances which will be held at the Hayesville Senior Center on Ritter Road beginning 7:30PM.

Live music will be provided by Dave Bartens who plays and sings your favorites from Big Band Swing, Country. Two-Step & Line Dancing, Classic 50's, along with Latin Cha-Cha's, Rhumbas, Tango's, Walzes and an occasional Polka. Whatever your choice is I'm sure Dave can fulfill it.

We offer door prizes, plenty

of finger food, sweets & soft drinks CALENDAR all for a $5 donation per person. If you're not a dancer, just want to learn a little, or get out for an enjoyable night with some great folks join us and you won't be dissapointed. Life Skills for Men and Women, Where: Murphy Public Library - Time: 10:00-11:00am presented by: REACH, Inc, Women's Resource Center, Lea English Coordinator and presenter. Held in the quite room. Hayesville Civitan Club will be holding their Annual Spaghetti

Dinner Fund Raiser on Saturday, March 29th from 4 P.M. until 7 P.M. at Truett Baptist Church. The meal will include salad, spaghetti, bread, dessert and a drink. The cost will be $7.00, you may purchase ticket in advance from any Civitan or Jr. Civitan Member or they may be purchased on saturday at the church. The Tough on Trash Coalition of Clay announces its 3rd County- Wide Pick-up and Rally on the Square. Concerned citizens are invited to join the Coalition in collecting roadside trash from Monday thru Saturday Noon, March 24-29.

Orange bags will be available Wednesday, March 19 thru Friday, March 28 at three locations-

• United Community Bank • Moss Memorial Library

• The Market

Full bags should be left beside State Highways for NCDOT collection.

The Spring Rally will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 29th on the Square. Features to include:

• Litter pick-up tally

• Information on Financial Benefits of Recycling

• Details of the Governor's Anti-Littering Initiative

• Display of Student Made Trash to Treasures Art

• Music and Refreshments

Tri-County Friends of NTRA

Tri-County Friends of NTRA 6th Annual Banquet and Auction will be held Saturday, March 29,, 2008, at 6:00 pm at the Mountain Vista Inn, 78 Terrace Avenue, Murphy. This exciting evening will include great food, special drawings for Firearms & Live auction items featuring limited edition NRA merchandise. Record Albums (33 1/3) are back and we've got dozens of new arrivals. Also books on tape and VCR movies. Don't forget us when you need that special book! Monday 12:30 to 4 p.m. Tues. Sat. 10-4 p.m across from the moss library in Hayesville.

MOAA Meet

The Blue Ridge Mountains Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) meets the third Monday of each month at various area restaurants. All active duty, retired and reserve military and public health service officers, and warrant officers are invited to attend.
