Spence files for congress
Spence Campbell a small business owner born in Chattanooga, Tennesse is running for Congress to provide the effective conservative leadership that western North Carolina deserves in Washington, D.C. He is an Army veteran, a devoted family man and an experienced small businessman. He also is a dedicated community volunteer. He promises if elected he will fight to defend our traditional values for future generations of America. His top three issues of North Carolina are economy, economy and economy. His experience as a business owner has taught him that lower taxes and fewer regulations are the keys to creating more high paying jobs. "I will fight to help businesses invest, grow and create good jobs," he says. As a veteran who served two combat tours in Vietnam, he understands the vital importance of providing our military men and women with the best pay, training and equipment possible and that every veteran should be cared for as they return home. He promises to fight for the core conservative principles which he claims define our region. He is prolife, strongly supports the protection of our Second Amendment Rights and also supports the preservation of traditional marriage. He favors building a fence along the entire southern border to stop illegal immigration to protect our homeland. He says he will defend the free expression of Faith in God in the the public square and believes in the vision of the government that our Founders established. "Government should work on behalf the people, not the other way around. Congress has never been less responsive to the people, and I believe it is time for that to change," he says. In response to the alcohol referendum that was passed in Murphy he believes that this will boost sales resulting in economic growth but also believes that alcohol causes problems for people and that if we have more alcohol, we will have more problems. "The trade of it is the economic rewards of being able to sell alcohol, but it is not an even trade," he expresses. He is an active community leader and has held many vital positions with local civic and charitable organizations. He formerly served as Executive Director of the Henderson County chapter of the American Red Cross, Founding Board President of the Children and Family Resource Center, the United Way of Henderson County Campaign Chair, a member of the Hendersonville Board of Adjustment, Chairman of the 2003 Henderson County Historic Courthouse Committee and he is currently a member of the Henderson County Department of Social Services Board. He has also served as the Chairman of the Henderson County Republican Party for the past three years. To help Spence Campbell in his campaign, you can reach him at 828.698.9742.
