Coffee with the Poets

Coffee with the Poets is hosted by Phillips and Lloyd Book Store in Hayesville, North Carolina Wednesday, March 26, at 10:30 A.M. Please join us for a morning of local writers reading their work.

First Free Will Baptist Church

The First Free Will Baptist Church will be holding a church wide yard sale on Saturday, March 29, 2008,

at the vacant lot across the highway from Ingles. There will be lots of families participating, so you're sure to find what you're looking for. Rain date will be the following Saturday, April 5th 8

Hayesville Civitan Club will be holding their Annual Spaghetti

Dinner Fund Raiser on Saturday, March 29th from 4 P.M. until 7 P.M. at Truett Baptist Church. The meal will include salad, spaghetti, bread, dessert and a drink. The cost will be $7.00, you may purchase ticket in advance from any Civitan or Jr. Civitan Member or they may be purchased on saturday at the church. Please come join us for a delicious meal, you can eat in or take out!

Notice of Upcoming Events Spring Roadside Trash Pickup and Rally

The Tough on Trash Coalition of Clay announces its 3rd County- Wide Pick-up and Rally on the Square. Concerned citizens are invited to join the Coalition in collecting roadside trash from Monday thru Saturday Noon, March 24-29.

Orange bags will be available Wednesday, March 19 thru Friday, March 28 at three locations-

• United Community Bank • Moss Memorial Library

• The Market

Full bags should be left beside State Highways for NCDOT collection.

The Spring Rally will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 29th on the Square. Features to include:

• Litter pick-up tally

• Information on Financial Benefits of Recycling

• Details of the Governor's Anti-Littering Initiative

• Display of Student Made Trash to Treasures Art

• Music and Refreshments

Tri-County Friends of NTRA

Tri-County Friends of NTRA 6th Annual Banquet and Auction will be held Saturday, March 29,, 2008, at 6:00 pm at the Mountain Vista Inn, 78 Terrace Avenue, Murphy. This exciting evening will include great food, special drawings for Firearms & Live auction items featuring limited edition NRA merchandise. VFW to hold Quarterly Dinner

Allison-Bristol VFW will hold their Quarterly Dinner on April 10, 2008 at 6 p.m. As usual it will be held at the Senior Center on Ritter Road. All members and their families are invited to attend. Any Veteran of Clay County are invited to join us and please bring your family. Clay County now offers membership in either or both the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

TRI-STATE SINGLES CLUB " 40 & OVER"

13 new members came to the last meeting of the Tri-State Singles. If you are single, and looking for a chance to meet some new friends, this is your chance.

The next meeting is April 18, 2008 at the Ranger Community Center. Starting time is 6 p.m.
