Frieda Horn
Frieda and her family immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1968 and lived in Wisconsin before moving to Clay County in 1984. She was a member of the Nifty-Needles, an organization that knits sweaters for orphans, and taught knitting at Tri-County Community College and other places in this area. She was the daughter of the late Josef and Madalene Stengl and was preceded in death by her husband, Dr, Wolfgang Otto Horn and a son Erik Horn. Frieda is survived by two sons, Mark Horn of Charlotte, NC and Bernd Horn of Cary, NC; two step-sons; Frank Horn of Zurich, Switzerland and Herbert Horn of New York; a step-daughter, Irene Brinkmann of Jacksonville, FL; a sister, Margit Schenzer of Flensburg, Germany and 13 grandchildren. Funeral services were held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 22, 2008, at the Townson-Rose, Frank Rose Sr. Memorial Chapel in Hayesville, NC. Father George Kloster officiated. Inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made In Memory of Frieda Horn to the Moss Memorial Library, PO Box 900, Hayesville, NC 28904.
