Edgar Moore Edgar "Ed" Moore, 77, of Hayesville, died Thursday, April 3, 2008. A native of Clay Co., he was a son of the late Paul and Odena Clements Moore. Ed retired from the N.C. Dept. of Transportation, was a former member of the Clay Co. Board of Education and a former member of the Civitans and Lions Club. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Junia Gibson Moore; daughters, Rita Thomas, of Hayesville, and Susan, and her husband Rev. Dan Gaddy, of Summerfield, NC; brothers, Vaughn, and his wife, Dot, of Hayesville and Lester Moore, of Atlanta, GA; sister, Eulene, and her husband, Ray Rogers, of Hayesville; 3 grandchildren, Michelle Lakey,and her husband Sean, of Summerville, SC, Jeremiah Gaddy, and his wife, Courtney of Asheville, and Jessica Gaddy who is attending Brevard College . Funeral service were held at Truett Memorial First Baptist Church. The Revs. Greg Carroll, Chester Jones and Dan Gaddy officiated. Quartet music was provided by Chester Jones, Dobbin Garrett, Dennis Myers, and Susan Gaddy. Carol Faye Jones provided piano music. Pallbearers were Sean Lakey, Jeremiah Gaddy, Dan Gaddy, Andy Gibson, Chester Gibson, Ronnie Anderson, Ray Gibson, Randall Moore.
Honorary pallbearers: John Swanson, Buddy Vaught, Michael Moore, Hayes and Allan Gibson, and Carl Moore. Burial was at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Hayesville.
