Viola Davis

Minnie Viola Davis, age 97, of Marble, NC died Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Murphy Medical Center.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC. Viola was a homemaker and a member of the Maltby Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Addie Pace Rowland.

In additon to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Lewis (Louie) Davis who died in December of 1988; two

sons, Charles Leonard Davis and Andrew Allen Davis and daughter, Fannie Francis Davis.

She is survived by five sons, Robert and his wife Nellie Davis of Marble, NC, Ralph and his wife Marie Davis of Marble, NC, Jack and his wife Gail Davis of Marble, NC, James Davis of Athens, TN and David Lovingood and his wife Joni of Concord, NC; a daughter, Fannie Ware and her husband, Jerry of Suit, NC; a brother, Frank Rowland of Gastonia, NC; four sisters, Lois Hall of Gastonia, NC, Ruth Revels of Cherryville, NC, Callie Cooker of Charlotte, NC and Mildred Helms of Clover, SC; a very special niece, Helen Dickey nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several greatgreat grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy, NC. Pastor Harold Stiles and Rev. Bo Phillips officiated. Interment was in the

Maltby Baptist Church Cemetery

in Marble, NC. Pallbearers will be Alston Ware, Gary Davis, Peewee Davis, Chuck Davis, Alan Davis and Mackenzie Tanner.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made In Memory of Viola Davis to the Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home, 4130 East US 64, Murphy, NC 28906.
