North Carolina Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service Clay County nominations are now being accepted for the 2008 North Carolina Awards for Outstanding Volunteer Service. This marks the 30th anniversary of the program that showcases North Carolina's most dedicated residents. One of the five recipients will be nominated to receive the highest state award for outstanding volunteer service, the Medallion Award. Nomination forms are available in Clay County at the following locations: Moss Memorial Library, Truett Memorial First Baptist Church, and Nantahala Bank and Trust.
