Murder Mystery on the Rails
Great Smoky Mountains Railroad

The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad presents dinner theatre - on rail. The Mystery Theatre Dinner Train puts passengers in the midst of suspense and intrigue. Passengers participate in solving the "mystery" presented by Nightshade Mystery Theatre, a professional group of actors from Asheville, NC lead by local theatre veteran Deborah Austin.

Passengers board the train in Dillsboro, NC for a three-course gourmet dinner. Seating is in one of three elegant, restored dining cars. The meal is prepared by GSMR Executive Chef Paul Swofford. Dinner includes salad, bread, seasonal vegetables, dessert, and tea or coffee with choice of entrée.

Entrée choices include: May - Grilled Pork Tenderloin with a Tropical Mango Salsa or Chicken Breast stuffed with jumbo lump Crabmeat, Garlic-Infused Spinach, and Boursin Cheese; June - Grilled Filet Mignon topped with Gorgonzola Cheese or Chicken Coq Au Vin in Red Wine with Mushrooms and Onions; July - Blackened Pork Tenderloin with Black Eye Pea Relish or Crispy Pan Seared Duck Breast with caramelized Red Onion Marmalade; August - Double Cut Pork Chop Oskar Style with Crabmeat, Asparagus, & Béarnaise Sauce or Chicken Breast Florentine with fresh Baby Spinach, Bacon, and Boursin Cheese; September - Roasted Pork Loin with Black Beans & Rice or Chicken Airline-Styled topped with Prosciutto Ham and Swiss Cheese; October & November - Blackened Tuna in Roasted Pepper Coulis or Chicken a La Munich. A vegetarian selection of a Portabella Mushroom Tower is available upon request. Cocktail and wine service is available for purchase on board.

Mystery Theatre Dining trains depart from Dillsboro, North Carolina on Friday evenings beginning May 2nd through November 7th. Tickets are $94.00 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are required.
