Camelot box office opens

LIKE ROYALTY: Dennis Muron as King Arthur, Herb Silbert as Pellinore, and Whitney Harrell as Guenevere rehearse for Camelot, next show at the Peacock Playhouse.
Tickets are now on sale for the summer musical, CAMELOT, at the Peacock Playhouse in Hayesville. Last summer's SOUND OF MUSIC was a sold out event. Director Nancy Davis and Musical Director Paul Dyer are back to weave their special magic. CAMELOT is the Lerner and Loewe musical about King Arthur, Queen Guenivere, and Sir Lancelot. The show was a hit in New York with its great music and solid story. It was ultimately made into a movie.

Davis is working with a cast of 25 from many counties. Dyer is getting the orchestra together and working on the vocals. The logistics are challenging in doing a big musical. Davis, Dyer, and some of the cast are coming from Franklin, which with today's gas prices shows extra dedication. Brian Barrentine is coming from Elijay to play Sir Lancelot. He played Capt. Von Trappe in SOUND OF MUSIC. Davis is thrilled to have him in the cast this year. They have been in rehearsal nightly since mid June.

Davis also appreciates the youngsters in the production who are doing such a great job. The two youngest are John-Vincent Muron, who is five, and his older sister, Savannah who is seven. They were both in MIRACLE ON 34th STREET and are excited about being in CAMELOT. What makes it even better is that their dad, Dennis Muron, is playing King Arthur and their mom is helping with lines and whatever else she can. Savannah is excited about the dancing she does, performing a cartwheel and a round-off toe touch.

Trevor Barber is back playing a page. Last year he was Kurt Von Trappe, one of the wonderful chil- dren in SOUND OF MUSIC. Zach Jones of Brasstown is in his first play at the Peacock, but has been in productions at school. He plays a page and Thomas of Warwick, the young boy who meets Arthur at the end of the play. Zach's mom, Sarah is helping with costumes. Both boys recommend that everyone come see the play.

The play runs July 24th-27th, August 1-3, and August 8-10. Thursday through Saturday evening performances begin at 8 with Sunday matinees at 2:30. There is a special Saturday matinee, August 9th at 2PM. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students. The box office is open from 10-4 Monday through Friday. Theatergoers can also call for tickets: 877-691-9906, 828-389-8632, or 828-305-6068.
