Partin Family to play in concert
July 12 program will be at Brasstown Civic Center

The second weekend of July at the Brasstown Community Civic Center features the Partin family from the Talking Rock community near Ellijay, Georgia. The concert will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2008. Jeff and Faye Partin grew up in homes where gospel music was an integral part of life. When they grew up and married, they wanted their children to experience the love of God and the music that speaks of his love for us. As the children developed their musical talents, the natural progression was to have a family band and to play gospel music for others. These days, the Partin Family group consists of Jeff playing the rhythm guitar; his son Jeffrey playing lead guitar; his three daughters Natasha, Felicia, and Latisha on vocals; his grandson little Jeffrey playing dobro; his son-in-law Timmy playing upright bass; and Travis Banks playing the mandolin. From the early days with Jeff and Faye, until today, the Partin Family has been making music for over 25 years. They are featured regularly on ETC-3 cable channel out of Ellijay, and have performed at many churches and festivals in the area.

Traditional music concerts are held at the Brasstown Community Civic Center on the second and fourth Saturdays of warm weather months. Concert time is 7:00 PM, with the box office opening at around 6:30 PM. Admission is $4 for adults, and children 12 and under get in free. The community center is fully air conditioned, with hot dogs, desserts, and soft drinks available for purchase. Come out and hear some fine family harmony in cool comfort at the Brasstown Community Civic Center on Settawig Road in beautiful Brasstown, North Carolina!
