Sentinel photos and story by Desiree J. Reynolds

Rising country star, and North Carolina Native, Jason Michael Carroll rocked the Georgia Mountain Fair Wednesday afternoon. With over 500 fans in attendance, many who had brought signs, describing their adoration for the star. One, a parody of the Visa commercials said, "Gas, $50, 2-night hotel stay, $150, seeing Jason Michael Carroll in person, Priceless!"

Carroll is famed for his February 2006 debut single, "Alyssa Lies."  Which became the fastest-rising debut single by a male country artist in 2006, which is a heartfelt song about child abuse told from the perspective of a classmate. Carroll's newest Single, "I Can Sleep When I'm Dead" a song for which his tour is named, is just one of many good rocking country tunes with fresh originality that was performed at the concert.

Carroll's website, www.jasonmichaelcarroll.com, says the following about the young star:

"Jason Michael Carroll doesn’t look like he sounds – and that intrigue only heightens both realities of the tangy vocalist from North Carolina. After all, to hear him is to hear a straight-up, full-tilt, no-frills country singer who works a groove like a mule team, a melody like a barrel racer going for time, and a tear jerker with the dignity of Sunday grace."

And how true that is! If you have a chance to catch Carroll on tour, it is an experience you won't regret. Jason exudes the true spirit of Country-Rock and pours every ounce of that into his on-stage performance, and not only that, his interaction with the audience is phenomenal. To see Jason Michael Carroll perform, is to know how much he truly cares about and appreciates his fans. And on a side note, he smells really, really nice! (Take it from someone who was just inches from him at the bottom of the stage, taking photos as he wowed the audience, and melted hearts of teenage girls everywhere.)

Once again, the Georgia Mountain Fair has brought us top-notch entertainment!
