Internationally celebrated musician to perform at Moose Hollow
Hailed as "one of America's most accomplished and beloved young composers," Janis has sold over one million albums, is featured on four National Public Television specials, and has 10 billboard charting CDs. Janis' compositions, which are inspired by Earth's natural beauty, incorporate piano, violin, guitar, flute and other acoustic instruments, along with the occasional synthesizer-generated melody. In addition to composing, recording and touring in the U.S. and abroad, Janis uses his talent to advance globally important causes and foster international goodwill; an endeavor the music industry coins, "Music with a Mission." Janis' projects have included creating a children's charity fundraising album for the People's Princess Foundation; collaborating with Paul McCartney, Billy Joel and other famous musicians to create a fundraising CD for the American Cancer Society; working with actor George Clooney to develop the "Beautiful America" Public Television fundraising special, which generated more than $2,000,000 in donations; and recording and touring with an all-female, HIVpositive South African choir to raise awareness about the African AIDS crisis - just to name a few. Several years ago, the U.S. State Department invited Janis to oversee music fundraising concerts in Eastern Europe to promote American goodwill, and in 2005, Janis received permission from the Chinese government to perform a series of concerts. These concerts, which also featured images of America's national monuments and parks, endeavored to promote a deeper understanding of American culture. Here in the States, Janis heads up the "Music in Our Schools" volunteer program, which encourages elementary school students to create and study music. "We've been featuring Tim's enchanting music at Moose Hollow for years, and subsequently, our customers have become some of his biggest fans," said Dave Imeson of Moose Hollow Trading Company. "It is an immense honor to have this gifted musician and dedicated humanitarian perform for our community. It will most certainly be a magical afternoon."
The September 17 performance is free, and Janis will greet fans after the concert and sign copies of his CDs. To learn more about Tim Janis, visit www.timjanis.com. For more information about the concert, contact Moose Hollow Trading Company at 828-837-4940 or visit www.moosehollow.net.
